The CASCWA Webmasters are placing several pages on our website that pertain to news and information about our organization.  This includes information on our scholarship programs, CASCWA Store, Intercom and several sponsors and vendors.  

CASCWA has a wonderful history.  We are proud to be the singular organization that promotes the fields of child welfare and attendance.  We truly are child advocates.  We have important responsibilities.  We must all work together to face the challenges of the 2020-21 school year.

What is CASCWA

Below you will find the first two sections of the CASCWA Constitution (full constitution link below.)  These two sections describe the reasons for our organization and focus of our actions:

ARTICLE II (MISSION STATEMENT and PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION)

SECTION 1

The Association is an organization comprised of school and community professionals who are dedicated to improving school climate, safety, and increasing school attendance. We create a network of professional support, mentors, and educators, and we influence relevant legislation and advocate for the needs of students, families, and schools.

SECTION 2

The purpose of this Association shall be to promote the work of Child Welfare and Attendance, Student Services, and to raise the professional level of workers in this field throughout the State of California, by:

  • A.    Providing a means for the dissemination of innovative, creative, and constructive ideas concerning the development of youth in relation to their school, home and community; including the periodic publication and distribution of a Statewide Newsletter, known as the Intercom.
  • B.    Maintaining high standards for the training and professional development of Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance.
  • C.   Encouraging programs for guidance and counseling of the in-school and out-of-school youth until they have reached a period of adjustment.
  • D.   Encouraging programs for guidance and counseling of the in-school and out-of-school youth. Advocating and assisting in the development and maintenance of adequate records of the school, community, and home life of youth.
  • E.    Influencing relevant legislation for the needs of youth, families, and schools.

CASCWA State Presidents

The history of CASCWA reflects the history of education in the State of California.  Today, we are facing uncertainty, new challenges and reduced resources.  It takes leadership to survive and to make a better tomorrow.  In every school district, county offices and at the state level there are individuals, who will not only take on the issues of today, but who will provide the leadership to help other in our fields.  They are true leaders!  CASCWA has benefited from incredible leadership over the years.  Below, you find a list of CASCWA State Presidents going back to
