STATE SARB
State SARB
EC Section 48325 established a State School Attendance Review Board (SARB) for statewide policy coordination and personnel training to divert students with serious attendance and behavior problems from the juvenile justice system and to reduce the number of dropouts in the state public education system. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) extends invitations of participation to representatives of appropriate groups throughout the state. The State SARB makes annual recommendations to the SSPI regarding the needs of high-risk youth.

Ashley Sprader and the Pleasanton Unified School District's Model SARB team recently developed a PDF document entitled, "PUSD Attendance and Engagement Updates." The document was shared at a recent State SARB Meeting. The editors of the Intercom were impressed with this document and the importance of the information it contains. We contacted David Kopperud and he agreed that this model document should be shared with CWA offices throughout the State! |
