We are in the process of updating this web page over the next couple of weeks!
CASCWA's STATE CONFERENCE INFORMATION
CASCWA's 2021 State Conference April 26 and 27th
It was a phenomenal disappointment, in March of 2020, when CASCWA Southern Section had to cancel the 2020 CASCWA State Conference! Instead of losing momentum and focus, Rick Riegel reignited his conference planning team. Faced with new challenges and learning the power of "Zoom and Sched", Rick developed a vision to take the CASCWA State Conference to a higher level and the results exceeded expectations!
Our friends in CASCWA's Delta Sierra Conference are already planning for our 2022 CASCWA State Conference. They are in the process of finalizing their plans and contracts. When we know more of the details, we will post immediately and send out updates! A special thank you to Melissa Parrett and Virginia Burns for all their hard work!
2021 CASCWA State Conference - A Journey of Success!
The 2021 CASCWA State Conference was remarkable! The journey to success actually begins in March of 2020 when the Corona Virus hit! Southern Sections was within a week of sending out a finalized list of sessions and presenters for the 2020 State Conference. 440 registrations were cancelled and the whole process began again.
Southern Section's Rick Riegel quickly brought the whole team together with brain storming and dividing committee responsibilities. It all came together quickly. In September, "Zooming" became a reality with a workshop of 800 registrants powered by the leadership of Jennifer Kottke. The flyers, sessions and speakers aligned with the conference strands were the direct work of the committee headed by Maria Bravo.
Conference Registration began in November. We used our Wild Apricot data base system to keep accurate records and the three individuals who made this possible are Sandra Amatriain (Treasurer), Bonnie Boone (Registration), and Jessie Cherri (Post Office.) the amount of work they did was incredible.)
Finally, "Hats Off" to our Tech Team - Listed below:
The success of our 2021 CASCWA State Conference can be greatly attributed to the variety of conference sessions and the quality of the presentations. Attendees came from California Counties throughout the state. In a time, devastated by the impact of the "Corona Virus", this conference met a true need to deliver important information to our members and friends seeking knowledge. We commend Rick Riegle for the vision he brought for the conference and to Maria Bravo for her leadership and hard work that resulted in this quality program!
SOUTHERN SECTION'S INCREDIBLE TECH TEAM
Once the program and sessions were finalized, it was the "Tech Team's" responsibility to make the conference a reality! The print screen on the right shows the key members of the "Tech Team" at a planning meeting.
Jennifer Kottke (upper left), held everything together through her knowledge of zoom and her work at LACOE. Gary McGuire (upper right) and Jason Ferrell middle bottom (contributed greatly to the production of videos, inputting of over 700 email address and facilitating the daily interactions.) Maria Bravo (lower left) took all of her efforts in stringing the sessions/videos/awards together. She also ran the help center.) Michell Walsh (lower left) was a key player on the committee and active on the day of the event. Jeni Mendel (middle left) acquired the zoom and sched program for all to use. Bonnie Boone (middle) continued in her CASCWA multi-year roll of helping everyone! Finally, Frank Boehler (middle top) had a job of keeping out of everyone's way!
