Join CASCWA members and pupil-services leaders from across California for a focused afternoon of advocacy at the State Capitol. Legislative Day connects the real-world expertise of child welfare, attendance, and student engagement professionals with the policymakers shaping California’s education future.

Key Advocacy Focus Areas
- Reducing chronic absenteeism through MTSS
Removing barriers for foster youth, students experiencing homelessness, and multilingual learners
Aligning pupil-services priorities with LCAP goals and sustainable funding
What to Expect
1:00–1:15 PM – Assemble at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento
1:15–1:20 PM – Walk to the State Capitol
1:30–3:00 PM – Legislative visits (in-person or virtual team meetings)
A brief post-event debrief will follow to share insights and next steps.
Get Ready

Prepare a short leave-behind (data + story + contact info)
Be ready to meet with legislative staff — they are often the policy gatekeepers
