REsupporting Student Behavior
CASCWA Southern Section will be hosting on February 4th from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. an important workshop entitled, "REsupporting Student Behavior."
There have been exceptional challenges to students, educators, parents, and agencies over the past two school years! The impact is there, and we need to reflect on the current challenges to recognize the changes necessary for success.
The entire CASCWA Southern Section Executive Board decided to bring this topic forward for our February Phil Kauble Topical Virtual Forum.
There will be three separate presentations. The final workshop details will be sent out once we receive all of the presenter's bios.
The first presentation is entitled. Hot Topics: Legal Issues for REsupporting student behavior. The presenter is a distinguished educational lawyer who has presented at several of our events. He will begin the workshop with a presentation on today's "Hot Topics" and on specific information relevant to the challenges faced by educators in the fields of student services.
The second presentation is on "Student Safety." The presenter is with the San Bernardo Sherriff's Department. Also, he is a member of the International Association of School Safety. He is well recognized through his presentations to numerous agencies throughout Southern California. This portion of the workshop is relevant to all schools and districts who are in the process of revising their safe school plans.
The final portions of the workshop will be a panel presentation entitled, Expert Panel Members: REengaging Staff to REsupport Students. The panel will consist of three current Southern California district CWA experts. Each will share their comment, there will be panel interaction and hopefully time for questions.
This workshop is named after Phil Kauble. Mr. Phil Kauble remains a giant in the fields of student services. Phil spent several decades with the Los Angeles County Office of Educations. He is well known for his presentations throughout the state and for his staff members, each, a giant in the fields of CWA. Phil and his staff were statewide leaders and are now legends. Phil, for many years, was the author of the annual publication, School Law Relating to Minors. This publication is still current on the shelves of school districts statewide thank to the current editor, Maria Hwang De Bravo (bravo.maria@4edconsultants.org). We remain proud to have our workshop named after Phil Kauble.
